Response to "The Science of What Makes People Care"

     In the article, "The Science of What Makes People Care," they mention a quote by the famous poet and writer Maya Angelou which reads, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel. " This quote captures the idea of the article that people are moved by messages more effectively when it affects and involves them personally. The two following principles particularly stood out to me in supporting this notion. Principle #2     The second principle suggests that we should "communicate in images." Personally, I learn and absorb information best when I am presented with images or visual representations. However, it is interesting that the article encourages the use of "visual language" so that we can "create drawings of images in the listeners' minds." Descriptive language can help our audience better remember our message as they paint an image in their own minds
